Samsung HLT5687SAX 56-Inch Slim LED Engine 1080p DLP HDTV Review

I had this TV a little over a year. Is all I can say that if you find others with any reasonable price, you buy it. This is probably the best technology / electronics purchase I've ever done (and I have much more than a few).

The picture this is simply enormous. One of the most distinctive features is how big the regular, standard-def channels look at … especially compared to some I have seen some LCD and plasma. HD is flat-out amazing.Bonus is his "very low maximum power 230 watts. There are small-screen plasmas lead to 500 to 550 watts No thanks – I live in Ohio, where electricity is expensive.

I had an unusual shape for this type of more niche in the wall, so I had a flat screen (probably), space-saving purposes. Thing is still only about 11 inches deep. Classic 26 "tube set is probably much stronger than this.

After the one monthor two, and realized that the best TV I've ever heard (and certainly was), goalie, I bought two boxes on both sides of the DVD player, TiVo, etc. and then had a carpenter holding a State-owned TV side, the pillar of the vote. Sweet.

Samsung's LED color and light engine
The revolutionary new LED system available on Samsung DLP HDTVs offers better color, and energy efficiency.

LED (Light Emitting Diode) for modern color realization
Samsung’s new LED light engine replaces the arc lamp & color wheel design of previous DLP HDTVs, and realizes beautiful color. LED will last the life of the TV. Samsung LED DLP TVs eliminate the need to replace the consumable lamps every few years, and thus have less impact on the environment and on one’s wallet. Samsung’s LED light engine makes possible an Ultra-Wide Color Gamut that exceeds the NTSC defined color space spec for richer color than you’ve seen before on TV. Samsung DLP HDTVs with an LED engine are more energy efficient than similar sized flat panel displays, and the lack of a moving color whell in the design means they perform with less noise than any previous DLP HDTV design.

Samsung Cinema Smooth light engine
Samsung’s Cinema Smooth light engine create’s images with a smoother, more film-like appearance.

Cinema Smooth Light Engine
Samsung is the worldwide leader in creating light engines that harness DLP HDTV technology from Texas Instruments. Samsung’s Cinema Smooth light engine brings together the right optics, electronic circuitry and replaceable light source to create a brilliant picture that’s more lifelike and much closer to film. Now in its sixth year of evolution, Samsung’s Cinema Smooth light engine delivers crisp, 1080p High Definition resolution with high contrast and brightness, defined edges and sharp detail.

Next Generation DLP Chips from Texas Instruments
Samsung employs a Texas Instruments DLP chip that is comprised of millions of microscopic mirrors. The DLP chip is faster than any other HDTV technology, with the mirrors switching on & off 15,000 times a second to deliver a razor-sharp picture for fast moving images. When combined with Samsung’s new Cinema Smooth light engine, the result is a crisp, bright picture with deep, rich colors that’s closer to film.

Samsung Cinema Smooth light engine
SRS TruSurround offers a surround sound experience from only two speakers.

Red LED dies far too early – Jeff Nick – Washington DC
Red LED died about 18 months after purchase, convenient for 1-year warranty noted. Seems to be quite common if you have questions about Samsung LED DLPs. The replacement LED unit is very expensive, sometimes half the cost of TV values. Failure rate is so bad that Samsung stopped (or not?) Production of LED DLPs. Go with onion-based products if you still rear projection TV. Reliability is perhaps the most important feature of the big TV screenIt seems to me that the miserable failure of this TV.

15 months only – p and j –
TV was fine in 15 months, and then the red LED, or something to that effect, not today, so now we have blue-green-TV. The course, Amazon has only 30 days warranty and Samsung has only 365 days warranty (if) you pay more, so we stayed put. Although the local repair shop will again be able to resolve in a short and cheap way.
If not, my advice is do not buy from Samsung too.

Comparing Apples WITH apples ! – Jack’s son – FLA.
I have patience with her tasks. The comments were and are the best idea for consumers, they want peace Best Choice. Customer comments like "buy another size larger" because posting bought to convert images smaller than screen
example: 56 "LCD displays 46" with 4:3-transmission on cable networks.
Amazon was a good first experience. Research / Buying / Delivery and Product is just what you expect. I have a Samsung SurrondCompliment the big screen, and if you want more time and money, optical and HDMI cables on-line shopping, and local merchants are more expensive, including postage (if on-line from Amazon). Consumer Reports substantiated my homework as well as in previous editions. Thank You Amazon and Samsung.

Samsung TVs Have A Known Defect and Awful Service – Michael Weber – Coast 2 Coast
I am very unhappy customer! My Samsung TV is not just a few months from faulty power supply. I googled "Samsung TV problem" and found Samsung TVs are documented bugs that make it into a brick or two years. Samsung is a problem is known, but thousands of people left in the lurch with their callous customer service.

I advise you to waste Google "Samsung TV problem," before you bid on one of these rags!

Perfecto!!!! – C. moses –
I spent many weeks to compare prices and review on this product. I finally broke down and bought a TV and could not be happier !!!!!! The TV is clear, sound is great, and the entire TV abosolutely looks great! I could not be happier ……

Great TV, but not perfect – Christopher Bellamy – Texas
I love this TV. The display is very good and it works very well. I have very few complaints. The fact that it appears to be S-Video connection early, but I can accept that most technology moves on. I knew that my research is missing, and I did not need it. But I was really excited about using the Picture-in-picture with my device. Unfortunately, PIP only works when the second announcement comes over the TV entry. Maybe it's the industryStandard, but it seems silly. I am convinced that we have all your equipment with dual display with the purchase of a signal selector switch coaxial output works, but it was really impractical and foolish to do so. For most people, I think that television would rate five stars.
